Comparative Analysis of the Physical Education Systems in Police Forces around the World: A Narrative Review

Special Physical Training is a crucial aspect of professional training for police officers worldwide. The methods used to implement this training differ based on the legal system, cultural specifics, and the unique security challenges faced by each country. The aim of this review is to summarize the previously known descriptions of this practice in order to broaden the insight into the functioning of the system. Thai is why, this paper provides a comparative analysis of the Special Physical Training models used by various police forces across Europe and beyond, focusing on martial arts training, physical and psychological preparation, program structure, and legal-ethical frameworks. There is a noticeable trend toward increasing professionalization, humanization, and technological integration in police training, aligning with international standards regarding the use of force. The paper emphasizes the necessity for continuous improvement, institutional evaluation, and international cooperation in the field of police physical education. Recommendations for improving practice are also given.Downloads
