Response to Reviewers – Author Guidelines

When a manuscript is returned with a request for revision, authors are required to submit a separate document titled Response to Reviewers (Single Response-To-Reviewers file) together with the Revised Blinded Manuscript. This document is an essential part of the editorial workflow. It shows the editor and reviewers how authors have engaged with the feedback and how the manuscript has been improved.

The Response to Reviewers should be clear, structured, and professional. Its purpose is not to defend the original version, but to demonstrate that authors have carefully considered every comment and responded in an academically responsible way.

The document should begin with brief opening note in which authors thank the editor and reviewers for their time and constructive feedback and state that all comments have been carefully addressed.

Every comment must be addressed, including minor remarks. Each response should be concise and specific. Authors should explain what they changed, clarified, or added in the manuscript. If authors agree with a comment, they should state what was done and where. If authors do not fully agree, they may explain their reasoning, always in a respectful and academic tone. Even when a change is not made, the comment must be acknowledged and the decision clearly justified.

Good practice is to remain polite and professional throughout, avoid emotional or defensive language, and ensure that the revised manuscript truly reflects what is described in the response document. Two responses—one for each reviewer—should be prepared.

The Response to Reviewers document is a key element of scholarly communication. A well-prepared response not only facilitates the review process but also demonstrates professionalism and meaningful engagement with peer review.
